My Weight: 200lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Sunny mostly bluebird skies, warmer temps, perfect hero snow, and with little hidden spots of ice here and there.

Flex: The overall flex of this board comes in somewhere in the middle of the road all mountain freestyle spectrum. You do have a little more flex in the nose and tail and from outside the inserts through the middle it stiffens up. There is some torsional flex but overall it’s not anything overwhelming.

Stability: It’s stable through the mid section of the board but a little more loose in the tips. This is amplified slightly by the 3D shaping out there as well. So you will feel some chatter and that does slightly resonate back under foot. In rutted out terrain this board remains on top of everything and plows through it with ease.

Ollies: The nice thing about this board is that it snaps like a board you’ve been on for 100 days. Load up the camber, let it engage, and watch it rebound. It’s not the most reactive board out there but it’s more than enough to keep you satiated. If anything it feels like there’s a slight delay to the load of this board which is what you would feel with a board that is well broken in.

Pop On Jumps: This board is perfectly at home on any sized jump it has the snap you want as well as the ability to suck up any type of transition. It just wants to get you into the air.

Butterability: The 3D shaping in the tips reduces the possibility of the tips catching so you can swivel and sizzle a bit more. It has a nice sized sweet spot that lets you lock in but still retains the pop out of it all while not fighting you when you’re balancing out over the nose or tail.

Jibbing: It locks into presses and holds them through the whole feature, when you want to pop out it will pop out with surprising ease. You do gain the ability to not worry about the contact points hooking up due to the 3D shaping in the tips. When you get sideways this board hugs perfectly on the feature and you feel secure.

Carving: The way this board engages on edges is changed a bit due to that 3D shaping you lose the edge bite a bit and it pulls more towards the bindings. This can make it feel a little loose if you’re not prepared for it. If you understand this concept you’ll be fine. What’s nice is once you figure this out the transition from toe to heel is amplified due to the contact points being elevated. Short quick set up carves or medium carves are it’s real strong suit. You can lay it over but you lose some of the power due to the 3D shaping and lack of edge hold at the contact points.

Rider in Mind: Camber loving park guy that wants a little 3D shaping in their boards.

Personal Thoughts: I’m pretty sure they mellowed out the 3D shaping at the tips it seemed less pronounced when I rode it this time and actually made the ride a bit more enjoyable. I liked the fact that this board just felt like a higher end board I’d been on a ton before and would react that way even though it was fresh out of the wrapper. It’s got play and power where you need it.
