Conditions: The day started out overcast, cold, with a little wind and fresh snow. Later in the day it became sunny and bluebird with a bit warmer temps.

Flex: This board has a full directional flex. You get a softer nose that stiffens up before the insert pack and progressively gets stiffer as you get closer to the tail. The torsional flex is minimal but it is there.

Stability: You get a little bit of flap in the nose at speed and in rutted out terrain. But overall this board is super damp and just plows through everything in its path without getting bucked around.

Ollies/Pop: There is a little snap with this board but it’s set so far back that it’s right at the upkick. You do slightly load the camber but you still have to understand how to roll back and engage right at the tail to pop. At the end of the day it’s not the snappiest board for boosting and it shouldn’t be.

Butterability: Yeah I didn’t do that.

Carving: So lets talk about how this board rides on edge people. For starters it has a slow engagement at the front contact point and swoops in with a fluid motion but from there you roll your weight to inside the front binding and then flex the board to get it to dig in. That’s when it drives hard and you can really lay it over on edge. This board has a ton of power out of the tail and throwing your hip into the board lets it kick hard and transition quick. It’s almost as if this board rides like two decks based on how much speed and power you put into it. When you’re slow and laid back it’s fluid and smooth but not aggressive and when you’re hauling ass and throwing your weight into it, then it’s super powerful and wants to rip in and out of toe and heel turns.

Personal Thoughts: I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again it’s like a dwarfed version of the Lone Wolf and a Storm Chaser that’s anorexic. This board retains the best properties of those boards but put in a more accessible package. It’s solid on edge where you need it and then it floats when you want it. I got to ride it in the perfect blend of Colorado conditions to test it out and it excelled perfectly.
