Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, zero wind, warmer temps, creamy groomers, slush, chunder, and firm fast snow.

Flex: This board has that middle of the road predictable flex to it that almost every all mountain freestyle board has. Softer tips, stiffer mid section, and a fair amount of torsional flex. Nothing revolutionary here people.

Stability: This board is moderately stable you get some flap at high speeds and the tips do take shocks in chopped out terrain. Underfoot is where you notice the most stability and that’s to be expected. At the end of the day this board can plow through mashed potato snow but still remains lively.

Ollies: The snap is there on this board. The camber profile is super easy to load up and get to react. What you put in you can get double out of it which makes it fun for launching side hits, rollers, and cat track gaps.

Pop On Jumps: As it was the end of the season there weren’t any jumps but I wouldn’t hesitate to send it. Having to hit the Hollywood hit with this board repeatedly it was consistent with how it snaps off the lip and I’ve ridden this board in the past I know it can handle any size jump with ease.

Butterability: Softer tips and rocker? Now we’re talking and it’s playful where it counts. You can do high speed butters and just feel this board locked in or you can be laid back and more mellow while being playful. The camber section in the middle does give you ideal snap out of anything you do so keep in mind you will have some rebound inside where you’re flexing it.

Jibbing: This board locks into presses and holds them with some power. You will feel the rebound from the camber so if you’re lazy or laid back you may get a soggy press. What’s nice is that rebound will pop you out of whatever feature you’re on. Going sideways that camber section has the perfect blend of flex to rebound so it cradles on the feature but doesn’t clap out or force you to do a balancing act on it.

Carving: This board is smooth and fluid edge to edge with a refined nimbleness. It feels like you’ve ridden this board a 100 days whether it’s your first carve or your 1,000th. With the shape of the board, camber profile, and sidecut tech you get more control underfoot which makes it optimal for doing quick drive carves with low effort. But when you do want to do a hard aggressive carve it holds on well and has the power out of the camber section into the rocker to give you superb drive.

Personal Thoughts: I’ve ridden just about every version of this board since its inception and there’s something about it that has a refined elegance to it. Sure some years seem better than others but at least for the most part it’s consistent. It’s a board you can grab and ride anything in your path. It’s surfy if you need it to be but powerful when you want it.
