Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, warm temps, chop, chunder, slush, hero snow on the groomers, and if you looked creamy left over hot pow.

Flex: This is your standard run of the mill middle of the road all mountain freestyle park deck. Softer in the tips, stiffen up right where the camber sections are underfoot, then getting softer in the middle where the rocker point is. There’s a ton of torsional flex. Nothing mind blowing here.

Stability: This board is lively. You feel everything, especially due to that camber profile. It takes a hit in lumpy terrain and will cause you to keep your knees bent or get bucked. Cruising a groomer there’s less chatter and it’s better for that but you still do get some chatter way out in the tips. Overall it’s not a real damp ride.

Ollies: The snap is there and easy to engage. You have independent camber zones so you can pop more back foot heavy instead of being in unison. This means if you’re a laid back rider who doesn’t like to be calculated with how you pop you get more set up time as you can engage it at the last minute. It’s very easy to engage and gets the job done.

Pop On Jumps: I hit what constitutes a jump at A basin and lets just say it made it bast the death knuckle which was nice. Small and medium features are really going to be this boards strong suit just due to the camber profile and flex. It snaps off the lip with ease with a predictable amount of pop but it’s not mind blowing.

Butterability: Having independent camber zones with a hinge point rocker in the middle makes it super easy to get up on the nose or tail of this board. For lazy riders lean back and you’re doing a tail wheelie wooooooo! Seriously it takes no effort to butter this board but those camber sections do give a nice little bit of pop if you’re more advanced.

Jibbing: It slides fine but you do want to keep the feature under the front or back foot when going sideways so you’re not fighting the reverse contour of the middle of the board. This makes it lock in easier. When you do a press it feels like cheating because the C2 just has so much give in the center. So lock it in, press hard, and pop out the end of the feature.

Carving: The edge to edge power transmission is nimble and fluid, but you can over power the camber sections and get it to hook up on you. I had this happen more than once in steeper lumpier terrain. Driving a carve you also run into limitations with it as its not the most aggressive board out there. Medium mellow carves and short tight set up turns are its real strong suit.

Rider in Mind: Someone that idolizes Travis Rice but isn’t going to be more than the best rider out of their friends circle on the 10 days a year they ride.

Personal Thoughts: It has been a while since I hopped on this board. Nothing’s honestly changed. The 55 is the more freestyle version as it’s blunted out and not pointy. This is a board for people that snowboard but not for snowboarders. There’s no real wow factor and it’s predictable in how middle of the road it is. Anyone that idolizes Travis Rice will be stoked to be supporting him, but compared to other decks with his name on it, this thing isn’t something I’d run to.
