When she was dating her ex, who could not snowboard, the actress Julie Tan did not plan trips around the activity. However, after they broke up last year, the first thing she decided to do was to go on a snowboarding trip.

“I didn’t realise I was suppressing it. Like, I really wanted a trip around that but because he couldn’t, then I’d be like, ‘It’s okay,’” the 31-year-old told Yahoo Southeast Asia in an interview for the film Good Goodbye.

Julie deciding to immerse herself in the outdoors and in physical activity during the midst of heartbreak makes sense. Snowboarding offers a thrilling escape into nature, promoting mindfulness and reducing stress. It fosters community, boosts confidence, and provides a sense of achievement, enhancing overall mental well-being.
