The definition of "spring" is up for debate across North America. You've seen that meme that goes around every year, the one about "fool's spring" and "second winter"? Never has it been more true than this year as Mother Nature has had her foot on the gas in late March and early April.
Mammoth just was graced with over two feet of snow (and another couple of feet a week-ish before that). Not only have the powder days looked all-time, the bonus precip means more to push for the park crew in building the beloved Unbound spring parks.
True to form, in between storms the Unbound park crew has been putting in time in the cats and with their rakes to load up their parks. The crew just shared a few updates of the new features on their Instagram.
The April 7th post shares a South Park update. Highlights include a new middle jump, a cornucopia of tubes, and clean manicures on the lower South Park jumpline.
A few days before, @mammothunbound posted new transitions built in Main Park. Very pretty.
And just a couple of days before that, after 3-feet of snow over a couple of days necessitated digging the park out, the crew added a new wallride and quarterpipe in Main Park.
It's only the second week of April and spring is shaping up really nice at Mammoth and there's plenty of time left in the season. Mammoth is scheduled to be open through Memorial Day.
