The video of his run and the encounter has gone viral in a TikTok video and the above Instagram clip where The snowboarder glides down a cleared path winding through a dense forest. As he turns a corner, he encounters a man clad in a red-and-black plaid flannel jacket and a black beanie, standing in the middle of the path with a shotgun aimed at him.

The man with the gun approaches the snowboarder saying, "What are you, an Ikon user?”

A spokesperson for the Unified Police Department confirmed that they received a call on Saturday regarding a man wielding a weapon on Old Prospect Avenue in Brighton, a public road. Officers were dispatched to investigate.

Much of the resort's land is leased from the National Forest Service. Brighton's Marketing Director, Jared Winkler, stated that the resort has several access points where skiers and snowboarders can exit the resort boundaries and enter National Forest Service property. Winkler clarified that the resort is not permitted to prevent individuals from accessing public property through these access points. However, once outside the ski area boundaries, skiers and snowboarders must acknowledge and assume all risks.

To help alleviate potential tensions between property owners and resort visitors, Brighton Resort takes measures such as assisting residents in clearing their driveways and plowing roads to ensure clear paths from the ski area to their homes.
