Art shows are one of those rare things that we don’t think you can have too many of in life. They act as both a platform to showcase the creative side of our world, and as an incubator to further produce that same creativity we so desperately chase. Not to mention they are usually a ripping good party. What’s not to like?

“What snowboarding really means to me is freedom, and the opportunity to get up into the mountains to enjoy peace – and it’s how you draw a line from the top of the mountain to the bottom; it’s what makes that a unique expression of creativity. And I think the same goes for when you have a brush, and paint, and canvas in front of you. It all comes down to what we have inside of us. And that’s given to us by some higher power, and I guess that’s Human Nature.” – Jamie Lynn

Last week we announced all of those in the London area that they should make their way to the HMNNTR 4 (Human Nature 4) exhibit to witness the gallery opening at the Underdog Gallery.

Simply put, Human Nature is a collective of artists within the snowboarding community that has banded together to celebrate snowboarding and the creative spirit that is naturally derived from snowboard culture. The showing, now in its fourth iteration, is curated by artists Kyle Maynerd and Schoph, and has showcased in Seattle, London twice, and Jackson, WY, the fifth of which will likely take place next year in Iceland. This gallery showing, in particular, featured a legendary artist line-up, featured works from Bryan Iguchi, Jamie Lynn, Forest Bailey, Ben Brough, The Shallow Tree, Danny Larson, Iuna Tinta, Halldor Helgason, Mat Savage, Lucas Beaufort, Sly Cooley, Schoph, and Kyle Maynerd. It also featured multiple movie premieres and the introduction of the new artist collaboration between Dragon Alliance and Azymbol Gallery in Jackson, WY.

Needless to say, if you were in the area and didn’t go, you blew it. Beers were drunk, art was enjoyed, and snowboarding culture was celebrated the best it can be. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get a glimpse of the experience. Continue below for a collection of images from the show taken by Aaron Schwartz.
