According to a report by Stuart Winchester in The Storm Skiing Journal and Podcast, a new ski area named Hoedown Hill is set to open this Christmas in Colorado. Located in Windsor, just an hour north of Denver, this 12-acre ski hill is currently in the construction phase. It will feature green, blue, and black runs with a 130-foot vertical drop. The ski area will also offer a terrain park, a beginner zone, and plans for night skiing are in progress. The ski terrain will be served by three carpets, with an additional one exclusively for the 1,400-foot-long tubing lanes.

Owned by Windsor resident and real-estate investor Martin Lind as part of the Water Valley Company, Hoedown Hill will be a small part of the RainDance National Golf Course, boasting a lodge at the hill's summit. The goal is for this ski area to become a family-friendly destination for beginners in Northern Colorado, offering an alternative to the larger conglomerate-owned ski resorts dominating the state's snowsports scene. Nearby Fort Collins, with its 362,000 residents, adds to the potential visitor base.

The aim is to have the ski area fully operational by Christmas 2023. While ticket prices have not been disclosed yet, the operators assure they will be reasonable. Season passes are expected to be available for the 2024/25 season. In addition to winter activities, Hoedown Hill plans to offer summer activities such as hiking, biking, and a zipline experience.
