De-tuning? Bevels?…

Sorry to start off another de-tune, bevel blabla thread, however I recently bought a new Nitro Haze and would just like to get some clarification. The guy at the shop told me the board was ready for ripping, while I read and see from almost anywhere that de-tuning is something to live by
