Dumb Question…

Hey Guys. Got a bit of a dumb question re laces, i would normally ask my friends but they ride BOA’s and they are dumber than me :laugh: My Salomon boots (and I guess with its the same most laced boots) have a chunky plastic piece that holds both ends of the laces together. I guess this thing makes it easier to pull tight your laces
