Here it is: I have one month to find the right equipment to use to climb Mont Blanc and plenty of opportunities to test it on other local lower summits. For the Mont Blanc climb the vertical elevation will be between 1700m and 2000m and the route will involve crossing severql glaciers and climbing 50+ degree ice walls. I know I will need crampons but my guide (who is French and we have a little trouble communicating the very fine details) has not appeared too keen for me to be snowshoeing when not using the crampons.
