P-Tex’ing

I have a small sliver of my “clear” p-tex stick left. And i have a little gash on my lib banana allready and i need to fix it because it runs across the grain of the base (edge to edge). How can I successfully P-tex this gash withought letting all the burned slag apear on the base and disrupt the beauty of it
