On Wednesday, the organizing committee bidding for the Winter Olympics to return to Park City in 2034 submitted a venue proposal for The Games.

Planning out the venue for the Olympics is no small task. There are 186 medal events in 15 different sports between the Olympics and Paralympics, all needing different arenas, trails, builds, etc.

The submitted plan includes sites utilized in the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics as well as new venues and stretches from PC to Ogden--with a major stop in downtown SLC for snowboard big air.

The competition would be held on a scaffolding jump in the Park Place parking lot, close to the Delta Center, the home of the Utah Jazz. This means the Olympics would be the second snowboard competition to be held in that area of downtown, following last year's Grit Rail Jam, of course.

Park City hasn't been awarded the 2034 Games yet, but it's widely expected that the IOC will announce Park City as the 2034 host around the time of the Summer Games in Paris.

In the meantime, here's a blast from the past when Danny Kass, Ross Powers, and JJ Thomas took silver, gold, and bronze, respectively, in the 2002 Winter Olympics. Kelly Clark took gold on the women's side. Daniel Franck competed for Team Norway. And Heikki Sorsa had that huge mohawk.
