I have been to a few resorts in South Lake Tahoe(ish) (Kirkwood, Sierra, Heavenly), and even up to one week after any snow falling, they still have half-assed powder in untouched places (crusty but still soft), and generally soft groomers… and no icy patches to be found. I have been to Mt Rose (Northeast side of the lake) many times, and it seems to get much icier much faster.
