Vans x The North Face
Vans and The North Face are two iconic California brands that have both been industry leaders in producing high-quality products that retain a fashion-forward design since their onset in 1966. This year, the two brands came together to recreate two classic styled items with weatherized features for mountain enthusiasts eager to celebrate both brand’s heritage. The Sk8-Hi 46 MTE DX is a new approach to the classic high top style shoe with deluxe weather-resistant leather and synthetic uppers, warm linings, and an added heat retention layer between the insole and outsole to ensure your feet stay warm and dry. Match these fresh new shoes with the Torrey MTE Jacket and guarantee that you stay warm, dry, and styled while you take on any obstacle the winter may throw in your path. The Torrey Jacket features a quilted interior, custom embroidered patch on the chest, and an ultralight, highly compressible synthetic ThermoBall insulation developed in partnership with PrimaLoft that will keep you warm and dry while you cruise from one apres party to the next.
Salomon x The James Brand
True quality is rooted in the details. That is why this year Salomon Snowboards and The James Brand teamed up to create one precision based collaboration that is not to be slept on. The Super 8 from Salomon was designed to be your go-anywhere-do-anything carving machine and was inspired by Wolle NyVelt’s classic surfy style and Josh Dirksen’s legendary edge control. The board features camber under the back foot with early-rise in the front, for a flowing fun ride that retains all of the power and edge control you might need for ripping backside carves in deep snow or laying down lower than low euro-carves on corduroy groomers. The James Brand Chapter knife was similarly designed to be the knife that you never leave the house without. A clean and simple design ensures that no quality is sacrificed on gimmicks, and the knife’s titanium construction solidifies The Chapter as a classic piece that you will have for the rest of your life. Add both products to your set up this winter and sleep happy knowing you have quality on your side.
GNU x Airblaster
Since their onset, Airblaster and GNU have taken a full-throttle approach to guaranteeing the most fun on a snowboard possible for all. From fun colors to fun shapes and innovative tech-forward designs, their dedication to producing quality products that reflect their attitude has been relentless. Now for the 2017/18 season, both brands have banded together to create a collaboration series that champions this message in one cohesive set of radical goods. The Super Progressive Air Machine features a tapered directional design with mild rocker between the feet and camber underfoot for increased pop and edge control. Carve in circles, chow through pow, and blast into the air like a bat out of hell with this one-of-a-kind partnership of fun. Once you have the board between your feet, make sure to complete the kit with any number of matching Airblaster garments, from Ninja Suits to Freedom Suits, and everywhere in between.
Nitro x VSSL
It’s not every day that you hear of a brand that’s reinventing something as standard as the flashlight, but that’s exactly what VSSL Outdoor Utility Tools has done. By utilizing the wasted space of traditional flashlights, VSSL has come up with a high-powered LED light that now also doubles as a compact and efficient way of transporting essential outdoor gear. Inside the flashlight, you will find mountain hardware, wax paste, a bottle opener, and a neck gaiter, so you can be sure to have all of the basic essentials no matter what your adventure brings you. Make sure you grab yourself a Nitro x VSSL Mountain Board to go with this handy multi-tool for complete confidence on the mountain from first chair to last call. The Nitro X VSSL Mountain Board features a traditional camber profile with a directional tapered design for a classic tried and true all-mountain performance. You won’t be dissapointed by either.
686 x Pabst Blue Ribbon
Last but certainly not least comes the 686 Men’s Sixer Insulated Jacket. Built from the understanding that any good day in the mountains is capped with a cold one, this insulated Sixer Jacket comes ready to stock up on enough beers for you, your crew, and the persistent mooches that are sure to be brimming with envy. The front pockets come standard with insulated cooler lining to make sure your tall boys stay cold, while the inside and back panel of the jacket is lined with mesh pockets for days that “just a few” won’t do. Go ahead and enjoy yourself in style this season.
