Snowboard Iskola

There is some positive economic news emerging from the western end of the country. The United States National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum recently secured a $25,000 grant from the MI Nonprofit Relief Fund. This financial support originates from the federal COVID relief funds allocated to the state as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. Due to the pandemic, the hall of fame had to cancel two consecutive years of major fundraising events, which in turn resulted in a decrease in museum admissions and a 40 percent reduction in their annual revenue. This financial strain led to layoffs and closures, causing delays in much needed renovations and refurbishments essential to maintaining the museum's sustainability. The U.S. National Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum holds a special place in Marquette County's western end, and this grant funding ensures its continued operation into the future. So we can continue to immortalize and congratulate the Snowboard Hall of Fame!
