Torment Magazine, an independent media publication created and ran by snowboard filmer Jon Stark and snowboard photographer Ian Boll, had their big, annual magazine release party this weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah at The Depot Theatre. This magazine release party is always a big deal amongst the snowboard community, and people far and wide come to gather for the event - riders, media folk, industry folk, fans, friends, family. Torment Magazine is a more artistically driven magazine within the snowboard realm, and they put out one magazine per year that tends to be bigger pages, higher page count, and very photo focused. This particular issue is the sixth issue of Torment Magazine, and the featured photo on the cover is that of Parker Szumowski. What is cutting edge and unique about this particular cover, while it does feature a snowboarder, it is a life style photo. The vast majority of snowboard cover photos feature the snowboarding hitting a rail, a jump, the streets, in the back country, or otherwise snowboarding. Yes Torment!
