There are three resorts left in America that do not allow snowboarding - one being Alta Mountain Resort near Salt Lake City, Utah. Watch what happens when you are a snowboarder trying to ride the beautiful terrain at Alta.

The other two resorts in America that do not allow snowboarding are Deer Valley in Park City, Utah and Mad River Glen in Vermont.

Skiing dates back to 1850 and even earlier according to some sources. But snowboarding has only been around since (arguably) 1965. Take a look here at this brief history of snowboarding. What happens when a new thing is introduced to an already well established community? Generally and historically speaking, there is bound to be pushback. Snowboarders faced tons of friction through out the years - but to see it still going on 60 years later is a bit absurd!

Personally, while I do think the ski-only resorts are silly and would have way more fun if snowboarders were allowed, I say let 'em have it. We will enjoy the resorts that want us like Brighton and Mammoth and Loon ;)
