The Organizing Committee of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi confirmed today in writing that the proposal made by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) in collaboration with the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) to include Para-Snowboard Cross Standing – Men and Women (2 medal events) has been rejected. Both the IPC and the WSF are very disappointed with the final decision on the snowboard events in the IPC Alpine programme. The inclusion of the two snowboard events would have created the basis for further development of the sport of Para-Snowboard
