Snowboard Iskola

Board: Snofisk Puckerfisk

Size: 163

Camber Option: Directional cam rocker. Setback camber with rocker in the nose.

Bindings: K2 Indy

Stance: 21.5 Wide 18 Negative 15 Goofy.

Boots: K2 Thraxis

My Weight:

Resort: Arapahoe Basin

Conditions: Overcast skies with some sun poking through, occasional fits of snow falling, colder temps, and about a half a foot of fresh snow.

Flex: This board has that directional flex you would expect looking at it. Softer nose into a stiffer tail with a little bit of torsional give to it. Over all this board is definitely seated past the middle of the road freeride flex.

Stability: This board is actually a damp and smooth ride. It absorbs chatter with ease and you don’t feel like you’re going to get bucked around at all. It’s a deck for hard charging.

Ollies/Pop: This board has snap where you want it right off the back foot. It’s not the poppiest deck I’ve been on of this nature, but it does get the job done. I will say that you do have to be prepared to load up the camber to get it to snap.

Butterability: Had I been on the smaller size pow butters would have been easier, but this board was a bit of a chore to get it to happen. You had to really get your weight over the nose rocker to get it to lock in and even when you did that you have to press hard. Speed is your friend here.

Carving: Do you like to carve off your back foot? Yes? Then here you go this board loads up and slingshots off the back foot. This board is quick and nimble for edge to edge transmission. It lets you set up quickly enough on a wide open groomer.

Rider in Mind: The powder to the groomer freeride guy that wants a stable smooth board.

Personal Thoughts: I won’t lie this board was a bit of a chore in tight steep technical trees due to its size. It required a lot of over exaggeration of movements to get it to flow evenly, but on wide open terrain this thing excelled. You can go balls out in wide open pow and it will just blast.
