Board: Bataleon Party Wave

Size: 154

Camber Option: Mellow camber with Freeride 3BT and Sidekick

Bindings: K2 Indy

Stance: 21.5 15 negative 12 goofy

Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10

My Weight: 195lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: A few fresh inches of snow that was heavy and wetter than normal, warmer temps, overcast skies, and fog.

Flex: This board has a fully playful middle of the road directional flex. Softer nose going into a stiffer tail. There’s an abundance of torsional flex which makes this board playful yet precise when you need it.

Stability: This board got knocked around a bit in the rutted out mid day snow pack but it never buckled. You’ll feel every vibration with it as you charge around the mountain. It’s a very lively board.

Ollies/Pop: This board has ample snap for what it is meaning you can send it off side hits, rollers, and poppers in the trees. You don’t have to aggressively load up the camber section to get a reaction out of it.

Butterability: That nose is a giant scoop, it just wants to roll over and butter with ease. The flex is easy to engage on the nose and you don’t have to worry about it rebounding on you. What’s nice about the tail is that it’s so stubby you can manipulate it how you see fit.

Carving: The sidecut on this deck is perfect for getting it on edge and driving with it through a carve. You don’t have to worry about it not engaging unless you’re on ice, then you’re probably fucked. This board is really at home when you’re railing from one side of the run to the other chasing after fresh snow.

Rider in Mind: Someone that wants to ride the party wave and go party boarding.

Personal Thoughts: The best way to sum up this board was like someone combined the Slush Slasher and the Party Platter but made it a bit bigger. This is 100% a board for spraying, slaying, and slashing. Railing through tight trees on this board turned everything into a giant slalom course. Can’t praise this deck enough.
