Conditions: Overcast skies, wind, grapple snow, sticky snow, ice, sludge, and every bad spring condition rolled into one.

Binding Adjustability: You have the standard binding placement adjustments with the push down setting on the toe, heel strap settings, and highback rotation. You also have flip cams to shorten or lengthen where the toe and heel strap sit.

Straps: The toe strap is super grippy as it’s made out of rubber and contours to just about any boot shape. I had no issues with it slipping off. The heel strap contours well to the boot and you can feel it really lock you down. It is that injected EVA foam that reduces excess material and doesn’t stretch out.

Ratchets: The ratchets are new for this season and they did their job well. I never noticed them locking up or being hard to release. They clicked down with ease and never struggled or skipped.

Highbacks: The highbacks have some flex to them but weren’t overly soft or stiff. They cupped the back of my boot and let me drive into them with ease. I will say that they do appear to be a bit shorter than other highbacks from other bindings, but they do such a superb job of wrapping around the back-spine of the boot this doesn’t take anything away from them.

Binding Flex: This binding comes in with a middle of the road all mountain flex in my opinion. You can drive into it when you need to but be laid back when you want to. There’s a little lateral play in them but overall you feel locked in and secure.

Ride: I would classify the ride as moderately damp yet lively and powerful. This means that you don’t have to worry about micro vibrations and you can charge with it when you want yet still tweak out a grab as needed.

Rider in Mind: All mountain freestyle guy or someone that is a huge Yes fan.

Personal Thoughts: This binding didn’t suck. It does what you need it to do and you can feel that power transmission from toe to heel due to the skate tech on them. The ratchets were flawless and did what they wanted. Overall it’s a solid binding for riding the whole mountain.
