Conditions: Lightly overcast skies with the sun poking through, warmer temps, a little snow falling at times, some wind, and lot of left over pow.

Flex: Coming in at just past a middle of the road flex you get a board that has minimal sweet spots in the tip and tail for play then it stiffens up through the mid section. There’s a fair amount of torsional give to it which helps with the drive and manipulating the board.

Stability: This board is moderately stable. You’ll notice a little bit of chatter out in the tips but that never resonates back under foot or causes any fatigue. When in uneven terrain the board plows through what it has to.

Ollies: Load up the camber and you’ll get in the air. It’s not the snappiest board out there and it’s not a dead turd either, it just gets the job done and feels like a board you’ve ridden a few dozen times.

Pop On Jumps: This is where it’s at home and you can feel it snap off lips with ease. Obviously this is the Beyond Medals crew so big jumps aren’t a problem but riding the Peace Park it also slayed what it needed to.

Butterability: Those sweet spots in the tip and tail lock in perfectly and you can play around with this board however you want. The advantage of the Freestyle 3BT is that it only adds to this.

Jibbing: It gets the job done a little speed is key but then again it’s not a full blown jibstick. It’s one of those boards that you need to know the sweet spots and how to get your weight out over it to perfectly lock in.

Carving: The roll from edge to edge is smooth and effortless, on edge you can feel it lock in and drive in and out of turns. The one big thing to note is that the Freestyle 3BT does change how you engage and disengage a carve with it having elevated contact points, you steer it a bit more under foot. I will say that mid level carves are it’s strong suit, but you can lay it over every now and then if you have to.

Rider in Mind: Higher end park rider.

Personal Thoughts: At the end of the day it’s a higher end park board and it didn’t suck. It’s not going to be a deck for everyone with the 3BT on it but it has its place. The shape is nice for getting in fresh snow as it helps funnel it out and the 3BT gives it a hull like effect. On rails it takes a little more effort than other boards but that’s to be expected.
