Board: Bataleon Blow

Size: 153

Camber Option: Low camber with Jib 3BT

Bindings: Rome Blacklabel Bindings

Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy

Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10

My Weight: 200lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: A mix of clouds and sun, moderate winds at time, and warmer temps that made the snow a bit slushy.

Flex: So the overall flex of this board comes in around middle of the road for what it is. As like most park boards you have a bit more flex in the tip and tail out past the inserts, stiffer through the middle, with a little bit of torsional give to it.

Stability: This board is stable for the most part if you aren’t trying to go mach 10 into a mogul field. It can suck up landings and doesn’t wash out when on edge in chundery snow.

Ollies: There’s some pop in this board but its not anything to write home about. You have to load up the mellow camber to get it to engage and then it gets the job done.

Pop On Jumps: The lip does all the work as this isn’t an overly snappy board. You can boost when you need to you just might have to put a little more effort into it than you think.

Butterability: The scooped tips of the 3BT works well enough for buttering. You do have to get your weight way out over the ends of the board to feel it engage and it will fight you. It’s not an aggressive fight, but it’s there.

Jibbing: Make sure you’re centered over the flat section of the 3BT if you nose or tail press otherwise you’re not going to get as deep of a press as you would like. Going sideways the camber section cradles the feature and feels locked in.

Carving: There’s a smooth transition from edge to edge with minimal effort. On edge you notice that if you drive harder off the back knee into the center of the board you can get it to dig a little deeper and carve a little harder. At the end of the day it’s not the most aggressive board for carving and that’s to be expected for a deck like this.

Rider in Mind: Budget conscious park rider.

Personal Thoughts: It’s a snowboard. It’s not mind blowing and it’s nothing super special. It gets the job done and that’s it. But it’s what you would expect for something at this price point. Have I ridden better? Yes. Have I ridden worse? Definitely.

Comparable Boards: Rome Warden, IPP Harrow, Ride Kink.
