Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, no wind, cooler temps, feet of left over pow, and freshly groomed runs.

Flex: With this being the + version it has upgraded everything and that means the flex is stiffer. That’s the biggest thing you’ll notice over the original Party Wave. That means where the older one would flex and bend when plowing through chunder this one just sort of skipped over the top of it or just pushed through it. What you do end up with is a directional flex that starts with a ever so slightly softer nose then right before the insert pack it stiffens back up through to the tail. In the middle there’s a little bit of torsional flex but it’s no where as abundant as the regular version of this board. The overall flex comes in past middle of the road and lends itself more towards the freeride spectrum.

Stability: This board is super stable and smooth. Between the camber profile, wider platform, and the flex pattern you have a deck that you do not feel vibrations on unless you’re straight lining through a really rutted out mogul field. Be prepared to just roll over everything in your path.

Ollies/Pop: There is snap off the tail of this board. Between a medium traditional camber that you can load up with ease and the carbon in the tail this board will pop up, over, or onto anything in its path. It’s a deck that lets you be a bit more laid back with the snap initiation and you don’t have to over think it.

Butterability: So the nose is obviously the sweet spot and with it having 3BT and Sidekick you have a super spooned out nose, while there is carbon in it the fight isn’t as hard as what you experience on the tail. Basically slush and soft or fresh snow you’re fine, firm snow it’s going to make you work for it.

Carving: This board rolls from edge to edge with ease. You’ll notice that 3BT helps the transition and makes it more smooth. With the wider platform this is a board you can rail turns on and not worry about booting out. What’s nice about this board is that it’s got a nose you can drive into and a tail you can spring out of but the middle of the board is playful allowing you to manipulate your carves from mellow to aggressive and everything in between.

Rider in Mind: Heavier party boarder.

Personal Thoughts: The 57 is just too much fucking board for me. This thing really was a work out to ride and took a lot more effort than it should. But I will say that it does float supremely well, the edge to edge transition is amplified from 3BT if it didn’t have that this board would have been a slug to get to transition from edge to edge. Overall if you found things you didn’t like with the original Party Wave this might be something to look into cause this is party board supreme.
