Location: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, zero wind, cooler temps, chunder ice, ice, preseason death cookies, and firm fast corduroy.

Binding Adjustability: You have your standard flip cams for strap length adjustment. You can move the heelcup forward which also acts as where the heel strap and high back are connected so make sure you get the placement right with those as well as if you rotate your highbacks. There’s push down pin placement for the toe strap settings. You also have the forward lean highback block adjustment with 4 settings. And finally you have the Drive Plates that you can swap out as need be if you want a different underfoot feel.

Straps: The heel strap is that new injected mold that is super flexible and contours to any boot shape without breaking in. This gives it the ability to contour to any boot and provides a locked down feel without being bulky. The toe strap is the same material and has an optimal cut out to fit just about any boot shape. Hell you could even rock it over the top if you’re old and don’t know how bindings work these day.

Ratchets: The ratchets were smooth and climbed well. I didn’t have any issues other than the fact that I hate the one finger release mechanism it’s so small I just end up pinching them down to release on both the toe and heel.

Highbacks: The highbacks are super solid and you feel it. There’s a natural lean to these even when diminishing the heel block to the stage 1 setting. They just push into your calf and when you charge you feel the power that they have. That slight wing cups the outside of your boot and lets you push a little bit more into it to give you an added power transmission boost.

Binding Flex: These things are stiff. They’re just designed to be a high end charging binding.

Ride: The overall ride of these is powerful and twitchy. You feel every movement with them as well as every deviation in the terrain underneath. This binding is very lively.

Rider in Mind: Powerhouse freeride guys that like to charge.

Personal Thoughts: This is a lot of binding. It’s stiff, aggressive, and twitchy. You want to have precision here you go. Every micro movement with this binding translates into the board feeling it and reacting.
