Conditions: 16 inches of powder with a layer of frozen rain in it and chunder groomers around the mountain.

Flex: This board is past a middle of the road stiffness but isn’t fully into planky freeride yet. You have a little play in the nose till about the middle of the board. From there it stiffens up through the tail. There’s a little torsional flex to it but not so much that it’s domineering.

Stability: This board is smooth and stable. It cuts through chop with ease and you rarely notice any micro vibrations either in the nose or under foot. In really rutted out terrain it can get bucked around from the lack of flex but you have to be trying to get this thing to buck you.

Ollies/Pop: The snaps there and it gets the job done, it’s not anything to write home about but you don’t find it under performing. As it is S Rocker all the pop derives from off the back foot.

Butterability: Bring your A game. Even though it’s got rocker in the nose it’s not a sweet spot that you can just take advantage of and lock into a press.

Carving: This board steers from right inside the back foot for deep carves. That’s the first thing you notice with it. When on edge it rolls into the start of the turn and then you can just hammer out of it. Short tight quick carves or longer harder ones it does the job.

Rider in Mind: Someone that wants to charge on a directional pow board.

Personal Thoughts: I dug the way this board rode and liked that it initiated turns off the back foot. For a deck like this that makes sense. While that is clearly the best option for carving it didn’t suck at engaging off the front foot in a turn. In trees it’s nimble and in open pow is where it shines more.
