Resort: Loveland Ski Area

Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, mild wind, average temps, and a little bit of fresh on the sides if you really went looking for it otherwise man made chunder snow with ice.

Flex: With an overall flex past middle of the road it’s got a standard all mountain flex to it. Slightly softer tips that progressively get stiffer through the insert pack and to the middle of the board. There’s a little bit of torsional give but not enough to aggressively flex this board. You notice that this board has a lot of rebound when you twist it which means you have to be powerful in how you drive it.

Stability: For being a stiffer board man this thing does not absorb chatter. It just resonates right through the whole board and you feel everything. This is a board that skips over big dips in the snow and will stay on top of it but my god do you ankles and knees take a hammering from the chatter in it.

Ollies: The mellow camber is easy to load up and it creates a actuation point with the rocker that gives a little spring to the board. It’s not the poppiest deck out there but it’s got enough to get the job done.

Pop On Jumps: I wouldn’t really hit a jump with this thing if I had to, thankfully at the time of testing there weren’t any. Much like popping an ollie with this board I can say that it would get the job done but not be anything to write home about.

Butterability: The rocker is where you want your weight over it. Speed is really the key with this board as you’re going to have to man handle this thing like no other to get anything out of it.

Jibbing: There weren’t any rails or features but this board isn’t designed for jibbing at all so why bother.

Carving: The board rolls in and out of edge with a bit more effort than other boards. If you really drive into the tail it’ll pop out of a carve with serious power. I will say that laying it over takes a lot of effort and you need to be calculated with your line and understand the flex points in the board to get it to drive deeper through the carve.

Personal Thoughts: I didn’t hate this board but I didn’t like this board. It was just a snowboard. Sidecut takes some getting used to but once you figure that out everything starts to flow. It takes a lot power to really rail a carve with it. What I didn’t like was how lively this thing was. It just felt like having a tuning fork under your feet with everything resonating back up into your legs.
