Conditions: Early season man made ice, chunder, natural snow, and some of the heaviest low angle pow I’ve ever encountered in Colorado.

Flex: This is a freeride board through and through. It has a stiffer directional flex as you would expect meaning softer nose and progressively getting stiffer to the tail. There’s a little torsional give but it’s so minimal that you don’t even notice it.

Stability: There’s no doubt about it this board is smooth. You do not feel anything with it whether big ruts or micro vibrations. It’s just a damp ride.

Ollies/Pop: This board is so lacking in pop but that’s not what it’s meant for. It has just enough if you need to get over something in your way you can spring into action and get it to pop.

Butterability: Not happening. I tried, I failed, I moved on.

Carving: This board is designed for steep and deep pow. You want to carve on a groomer you’re going to hate your life. They put a long reverse sidecut by the rocker zones and you notice it. The board is hooky and you end up throwing your weight into this board every time you’re going to get it on edge. It’s such a work out. Short tight turns are steered from right off the back foot with you leaning way back. Long hard drawn out carves you need space to get this thing to engage, you want to make sure you can get from one side of a run to the other without dealing with anyone being in your way.

Rider in Mind: Big mountain pow freerider.

Personal Thoughts: In pow you notice where this board excels, but everywhere else it’s a chore. That’s not what it’s meant for. If you only ride steep and deep pow then sure this board makes sense. But anything else you will hate your life. It’s a good board for what it is, but it’s not the board for resort riding in North America especially in Colorado.
