Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: A mix of sun and clouds, winds, cold temps, and fresh snow from a giant snow squall that moved through.

Flex: The overall flex comes in at just past middle of the road bordering more on a freeride flex. You have a little bit of give way out in the tips then stiffer from there through the insert pack and middle. There’s some torsional flex but not an over abundance.

Stability: This board is mostly stable you get a little chatter way out in the tips but it doesnt resonate back under foot. It’s good for plowing through chunder and doesn’t buckle in heavier snow.

Ollies: The pop is there and while it takes a little bit of effort to engage it’s not overwhelming. It’s a board you want to be slightly calculated with to get it to snap.

Pop On Jumps: This board gets the job done off jumps and doesn’t suck. It mixes its natural pop with that of the lip of the feature and you know you’ll be getting into the air.

Butterability: The tips have a tiny sweet spot way out in the ends and that means you have to get your weight way out on them to get it to leverage. Speed is the key here.

Jibbing: It does presses and slides OK but the stiffer flex makes you work for it. Be prepared to be calculated and know where the sweet spots are to get it to lock in.

Carving: The roll from edge to edge is smooth and flawless. When on edge you have to push off the mid section and tail a bit more than other boards to get it to drive but when you do its Shark Bite edge tech takes hold and grips. You’ll notice that it lets you lock in and stay locked in as long as you want.

Rider in Mind: The guy that charges a bunch and wants a deck that can plow through chunder.

Personal Thoughts: So this shape is on two other boards I’ve ridden the Niche Story and Borealis Shaman. The edge tech works and each one has its own personality. This one is the softest of the three and that makes it a bit more playful. Overall it’s a snowboard that does what it says it will do and you can count on it.

Comparable Boards: Borealis Shaman, Niche Story, Libtech TRS HP.
