Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: High visibility gray skies with some wind and warmer temps. Perfect firm corduroy with pockets of fresh pow scattered throughout the resort.

Flex: This board has a middle of the road freestyle flex even though it’s directional. So you do get a slightly softer nose than the camber section of the board and there is a lot of torsional flex to it.

Stability: The boards stable to a point and by that I mean it won’t get knocked around in rutted out terrain and cause you to eat shit, but you will feel chatter underfoot and in the tips.

Ollies: That camber section through the inserts gives this board some nice snap. Load it up and prepare to get in the sky with this thing. It launches off anything you want it to.

Pop On Jumps: This board is at home snapping off a transition or a lip. Load up and pop and then race to the next feature. It’s solid and stable which makes it fun for sending it.

Butterability: The rocker in the nose takes a quick minute to get used to as you have to find the sweet spot to lock in, but once you do it holds and doesn’t fight you too much which is nice as you can be a bit more laid back with a butter. On the tail you have to use a bit more muscle to get it to press but it does the job well enough.

Jibbing: As mentioned you have to know the sweet spot in the nose or you can go over the handle bars if you get too far forward. Tail presses take a bit more work but nothing that’s going to kill you. There’s enough pop to get out of a press. Going sideways may seem a bit weird as you have more nose than tail and when you’re centered over the camber section it makes you feel off center on the feature, just roll with it as this board will hug and cradle the rail or box.

Carving: This is where this board shines. The softer flex makes it far more playful to do weird carves. When you’re on edge you feel mostly locked down but that you can still disengage when you want to. It’s nice that this board initiates from just outside the front foot but derives all its power from inside the front insert pack back to the tail. Short quick carves or long hard drawn out ones it will get the job done.

Rider in Mind: Freestyle focused carver.

Personal Thoughts: This rides like a softer Tranny Finder with less camber in it or a more mellow camber I should say. You still have to load it up to drive it but you’re not feeling it at the end of the day. This thing is a blast on a groomer and doesn’t suck getting it into pow either. Overall for someone that wants a directional softer resort carver that they can rip the park on this is a solid option.
