Board: Korua Tranny Finder

Size: 157

Camber Option: Float Camber. This is a setback cam rocker so you have rocker in the nose and camber through the insert pack to the tail.

Bindings: Rome Black Label

Stance: 21.5 Wide 15 Negative 12 Goofy

Boots: K2 Thraxis Size 10

My Weight: 200lbs

Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Sunny bluebird, average temps, zero wind, a couple inches of fresh snow on top of perfect corduroy, and then I went hunting for deep pow, chunder, and everything else.

Flex: This board is on the stiffer side but not domineering. You’ll notice that the main section between the inserts is the stiffest with the nose being slightly softer and the tail being ever so slightly stiffer. The torsional flex is there and never feels like it’s too much or too little.

Stability: The width and camber profile of this board make it super stable. You do get micro chatter that will fatigue your foot but the bigger more abrupt impacts and jolts are just lessened with this board.

Ollies: This board has snap. I mean snap. You hit a roller, sidehit, or little launcher and you boost. The camber profile needs to be loaded up but when you do it snaps. Even if you don’t load it up it still is more than ample with its snap.

Pop On Jumps: This board is fully at home on jumps. I took it second run of the day right into the mini pipe and it just boosted right out. Hitting some other jumps it just popped off the lip and sent it to the sweet spot with ease. Don’t hesitate to go send it with this thing.

Butterability: This is where it lacks unless you give it your full attention. You have to get your weight way out on the nose past where the rocker meets the camber. Then it locks in but still fights you. The tail on the other hand is great for doing high speed wheelies or going sideways and just sliding while locked in.

Jibbing: Look at it, this isn’t its strong suit. Can it jib? Sure can. Which if you know how to jib it’ll get the job done but look real weird while doing it.

Carving: Oh here we go this is what this board is known for. The rocker in the nose gives optimal entry into turns but then the camber section takes over and you initiate fully off the outside of thefront foot then it transitions back to right under it. From there it locks in and you drive the carve from the center of the board through the tail. If you want to get deep and low go for it this board will let you and you’ll feel secure. If you’re being laid back and doing short quick mellow turns it has you but the second you want to crank it over and rip a deep carve just do it. This isn’t a board where you have to stay on top of it to carve, it’s more subtle and nuanced which makes it nice.

Rider in Mind: Resort ripping carver with a freeride focus.

Personal Thoughts: Yeah so this finally happened and dear god this board is absolutely amazing. It’s nimble where you need it but can be powerful when you have to be. It has pop and snap which makes it versatile but you never feel like you’re going to die from putting all your weight and muscle into it. This thing is an absolute blast.
