Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, warm temps, zero wind, firm fast corduroy, slow and sticky corduroy and pressed down runs, chunder, ice, slop, and slush.

Flex: The overall flex comes in just below a middle of the road which means you get a more playful board that still has some snap due to the camber profile. The tips have an immense sweet spot that’s super flexible while the middle of the board is more stable. There’s a lot of torsional flex.

Stability: It’s a slightly softer park board so it’s not overly stable. You feel everything underfoot which gives it a lively feel and at speed the tips start to flap like a bird taking flight. Keep those knees bent because you will get knocked around if you don’t pay attention.

Ollies: The snap is great for a board of this caliber and the camber profile is super easy to load up but rebounds without any effort. If you like being laid back with how you engage a board but like solid snap this is one to look at.

Pop On Jumps: This board can handle small and medium jumps with ease, anything bigger and you’ll want to upgrade to a stiffer deck it just can’t handle the landings. The pop is easy to initiate off the lip and gives you a little more boost than you would think.

Butterability: Here’s where this board shines with having rocker in the tip and tail it’s easy to push your weight into and press. It takes such little effort but still gives you some rebound out of it for added snap that you can pop out of any variation you do. When in a deep hard press it never fights you but more or less tells you, “hey if you need to pop out of this let me know”.

Jibbing: This board is approachable for jibbing and that means you can be aggressive or laid back which makes it a bit more versatile. It locks into presses with ease and you’ll notice the flex point of where the camber meets that rocker. That’s where you want to get your weight situated and it will hold that press till the end of the feature but let you snap out. With the new age camber between the feet it straddles the feature easily enough and has a perfect amount of flex to really cradle the feature and feel locked in without clapping out.

Carving: Surprisingly for a park board of this nature it can actually carve. It’s easy to engage a turn and steers more underfoot where the camber dominate section is. This means you can just be mellow and roll from edge to edge by adjusting your ankles instead of driving it out at the contact points. The overall edge to edge power transmission is smooth and fluid and never feels like it’s hindered by the camber profile or flex. When you do lay this board over and believe me at some point you will want to do this you can rail a deep hard carve, sure there’s limits on it, but it’s nice to know it can handle it.

Rider in Mind: Price conscious park rider that wants a softer board with snap.

Personal Thoughts: This board never disappoints for what it is. It’s kind of the hidden gem in the Salomon lineup and people overlook it for what it is. It’s a well balanced softer park board with some snap to it and that aids it with its versatility in the park.
