Resort: Copper Mountain

Conditions: Blue skies with some clouds swirling around, cold temps, 5 inches of fresh snow on top of crusty snow, perfect corduroy, chop, and chunder.

Flex: This board has that middle of the road predictable directional flex. Softer nose that stiffens up outside the front binding and progressively gets stiffer towards the tail. The torsional flex is highly abundant.

Stability: You get a lot of chatter in the nose in choppy terrain and at speed. Underfoot it’s only mildly more stable, but you still feel everything with it. This board is highly lively and less damp than its big brother the Camel Two.

Ollies/Pop: The camber profile is very mellow and easy to engage. You don’t even feel like you’re loading it up most of the time, but when you do you get more pop. It’s so easy to engage that it gives it a skate like pop when you’re being lazy which makes sidehits, rollers, and pillows fun.

Butterability: The 3BT and Sidekick in the nose give it a really scooped out shape. Add to that the softer flex and you have a prime spot for doing pow butters. It locks in and just feels super secure. The nice thing with the 3BT in the tail is that it reduces your rear contact point from catching which makes it less hooky if you’re being a little sloppy.

Carving: The edge to edge transmission is very fluid and smooth because of the 3BT. You do however lose a little edge bite on firm or icy conditions so be aware of that. Also take note that you steer it more towards the binding than where the traditional contact points are. Short tight quick carves or long hard drawn out ones it’s got you covered. The middle of the road flex is approachable for driving this board hard from the center of the board back through the tail if you really want to apex your carve.

Rider in Mind: Resort cruising carver party boarder.

Personal Thoughts: It’s the softer version of the Camel Two which is a deck I really like. You lose some of the power and dampness of that board for a more lively feel and softer flex. This makes it a little more loose and less precise but still having the same shape which is great for pow/party boarding. Overall it’s a little better in the trees than its big brother but you sacrifice in wide open terrain.
