Conditions: 5 plus inches of fresh snow, cold temps, moderate to high winds, chop, chunder, crust, and soft groomers.

Flex: This board is on the stiffer side of all mountain freeride. You get a little more play in the nose but it stiffens up progressively back to the tail. The torsional flex is there but not overly abundant. One thing to note is how reactive and lively this board is.

Stability: This board is super stable. It just absorbs chatter to the point you don’t feel anything. When charging in rutted out terrain you might feel something if it really plows into it. But overall it just plows through everything in its path.

Ollies/Pop: There’s some solid pop with this board. You do have to load it up and it will rebound. It’s great for launching off pillow poppers, side hits, and cat track gaps.

Butterability: It takes a little bit more effort to press into it and it will fight you but it butters well. The 3Bt helps with it not being hooky.

Carving: There’s a smooth roll edge to edge that has some power behind it. When it’s on edge you can drive this board aggressively into a carve and get it to spring right back out. Short tight quick carves or deep hard ones it wants you to push it to the limit.

Rider in Mind: All mountain freeride guy that wants some 3D shaping.

Personal Thoughts: This board is more lively than the regular version the Thunder. This changes the dynamic of how it rides with its reaction when you load it up or drive it. Overall though it’s very similar to the regular Thunder.
