Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, warm temps, slush, chop, chunder, perfect hero snow on the groomers, and a little firm nastiness for good measure.
Binding Adjustability: There’s the forward lean block that you twist to adjust as needed. The toe strap has a dual pin placement system. Both straps have twist cams to help lengthen or shorten the strap. The highback has 3 placements for rotation and also doubles as the screw that allows you to set the heel cup. The drive plates are also interchangeable if you so desire.
Straps: The heel strap is a two piece design and very soft and forgiving. There’s no added plushness or material so the boot provides all off that. The toe strap has a minimal cutout but as it too is rubber like the heel strap it contours around just about any boot shape.
Ratchets: These climbed well and released as you would expect. The one finger quick release tab is only on the heel ratchet which makes you question why it’s not on the toe one. UNIFORMITY HERE PEOPLE! But otherwise they did their job and did it well.
Highbacks: This highback is super contoured. When you step into the binding and tighten it down you feel this contour around the back spine of the boot. Now when it comes to flex this thing is super soft. You can just feel it moving with the boot due to how it cradles it.
Binding Flex: This is a soft binding. You have a mini disk which aids the lateral flex of this board. Then the straps and highback are so forgiving that you don’t get much power out of it but instead have a lot of play. Overall it’s a slightly stiffer jib binding but never hits middle of the road.
Ride: The ride of this binding is very playful and lively. That means for the most part you feel everything with it and sacrifice any power or drive to just be buttery.
Rider in Mind: Park guy that wants a soft playful binding.
Personal Thoughts: Man this binding is super soft. It just has so much give to it that you can manipulate it however you want. Great for pressing and playing around if you want something like that but really bad for having any drive or power.
