Boot Used: K2 Thraxis

Boot Size: 10

Board Used: Telos Mike Ranquet

Rider Weight: 200lbs

Location: Arapahoe Basin

Conditions: Sunny bluebird skies, warmer temps, frozen snow, chop, chunder, ice, and perfect hero snow on the groomers.

Binding Adjustability: The heel cup is fully adjustable so loosen those two screws and slide it forward or backwards as needed. The toe strap has a dual pin position. With the highback you have a forward lean adjustment. Finally you can slide the toe ramp forward or backwards as needed.

Straps: The heel strap is narrow but has a multi piece design with material that will stretch and break in. The toe strap has a smaller cut out so it will be limited to certain types of boot shapes that will fit it. Basically think of these as older straps that have trickled down in the line.

Ratchets: These felt a little flimsy and as if I would break them, I didn’t, but the thought was there. They took a little work to ram the ladder into at first but once I got going I didn’t have any issues. They climbed well and the one finger release tab did its jobs.

Highbacks: This is a very minimal highback which has a bit of flex and give to it. The forward lean tab is easy to use but nothing special.

Binding Flex: The overall flex comes in just below a middle of the road. There’s a lot of flex in this binding from the straps, highback, and that mini disk. Don’t expect a lot of power just a lot of play.

Ride: The air dampening system works as you would expect but this is a real lively binding that you do feel everything with.

Rider in Mind: Freestyle focused guy that will go around the mountain.

Personal Thoughts: It’s a combination of the Zero and the Team and it shows. There’s a lot of trickle down from those bindings. At the end of the day it’ll hold you to the board and have a ton of play, but the straps do leave more to be desired.
