Snowboard Iskola

Vernon, NJ – This past weekend Mountain Creek took a trip back in time to 1987 in celebration of 25 Years of Snowboarding (1987-2013) at the resort.  It was a weekend filled with mullets, mustaches, methods and plenty of vintage style.  The high point of the weekend was the first annual Not-So-Legendary Banked Slalom event.  Under sunny skies and classic spring riding conditions over 100 RADically dressed competitors took to the course of banks, berms, rollers and booters.   Racers were judged not only on their time but also their overall style, and the tight and technical course quickly separated the pretenders from the contenders.  It was an awesome display of carnage and style as the riders put it all on the line for glory.   While the poachers trained up for some epic snake runs through the course.  When it was over here’s how the winners stacked up: Snowboard Over 25 1st Place – Sean Black 2nd Place – Sean Dolan 3rd Place – Kevin Whitehead Snowboard Under 25 1st Place – Matt Behre 2nd Place – Jon Koch 3rd Place – Jake Bush Women’s Snowboard 1st – Eva Bonner 2nd – Lauren Longfield 3rd – Gina Perrelli To cap off the weekend Mountain Creek sent one lucky fan home with a new (used) Cherry Red 1987 Camaro courtesy of Pabst Blue Ribbon.  It just doesn’t get any more Jersey than that folks. Mountain Creek would like to thank their sponsors who made the weekend’s events possible: Pabst Blue Ribbon, GoPro, SPY, Burton, Grenade, High Cascade Snowboard Camp, Original Skateboards and Mount Everest Snowboard Shop
