Last week I took an extra day off from work and did a solo 3 day backpacking trip into the Eagle Cap Wilderness in the Wallowa Mountains in eastern Oregon. The Wallowa Range is directly south of the town of Enterprise and contains some of the most beautiful country in the state of Oregon. This was a short hike of 9 miles into Ice Lake which is accesses by the main West Fork of the Wallowa River trail and this central region of the Eagle Cap contains some of the most spectacular terrain of the range
