Transfer of the WSPL & New Ranking Operator

In reaching an historic agreement regarding the global unification of competitive snowboarding, the International Ski Federation (FIS) and the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) settle the future custodianship of the World Snowboard Points List (WSPL).
The World Snowboard Points List (WSPL) recognised as the most comprehensive and authentic ranking of international snowboard athletes in the events of Halfpipe, Big Air and Slopestyle was developed by the Ticket-to-Ride Pro Snowboarding (TTR) and the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) in the early 2000s. As result of the merger between TTR & WSF in 2017, the WSF took over the management of the WSPL.
After a three year’s period, the WSF now hands over the future custodianship of the World Snowboard Points List (WSPL) to the International Ski Federation (FIS). A vital element of this transfer is the update of the WSPL’s look and feel and an upgrade of the underlying technology and automated data management with new action sports data provider Wyldata.
The previous ranking provider and operator of World Snowboarding, the World Snowboarding Services & Marketing GmbH placed in Scuol will close doors within the next couple of months.

The World Snowboard Points List (WSPL) was effectively handed over on the 31th of March 2023 to the new service provider Wyldata. The current standings on World
Snowboarding represents the data status of all events which happened till the 31th of March 2023.
However, we all know – switching a system which exists over 22 years is not super easy and some incorrectness appears due to the transformation: currently there is an non-harmonised data status from mid February till the 31th of March. This means, there is an inconsistency on the new WSPL provided by Wyldata during that period that some event results are missing and also the injury status is not harmonized yet. Therefore you should be careful to use any of this data for national team seeding etc. as the result will not stand up to legal scrutiny.
We are currently awaiting an answer from the International Ski Federation (FIS) how to fix these issues.
The standings on Word Snowboarding will stay visible till the 30th of June 2023. We will inform you in the next couple of weeks regarding the future of World Snowboarding.
Regardless of the transfer, all WSF sanctioned events stay on the WSPL under the WSF umbrella. The World Snowboard Federation (WSF) will inform all stakeholders regarding the new handling process for WSF sanctioned events for the upcoming season.
