Wax-Tune-Detune-SL-R?

I have a brand new SL-R I haven’t been lucky enough to ride yet but I am going to Snowshoe WV Jan4-Jan8 so my? is do I wax it before I ride and do I detune the tip and tail and do I need to tune the edges….or do I ride it like I stole it THANX Tommy:)
