Laura Rogoski is a talented boarder, an accomplished digger, a devoted member of the snowboarding community, and the founder of We're All Mental, an initiative that fosters discussion of mental health and bolsters community support within snowboarding through weekly virtual groups, in-person Mental Meet Ups, online discussion through social posts, and a zine of the same name.
Since launching We're All Mental, the community has grown, fostered by Laura and like-minded folks who are catalyzing a more understanding, empathetic, and open environment through their work with the self-described "support community."
Yesterday, to help fund continued work, We're All Mental launched an online auction. The auction is through Instagram and can be found at @mental_silentauction.
Laura has run a few silent auctions in the past, all in-person, to raise funding for We're All Mental. The most recent was at Trollhaugen during Take the Rake last December. This is the first online auction, which means anyone can help support a good cause.
Items up for bid include gear from Autumn, Roxy, Bataleon, and Dang Shades; Slush the Magazine subscriptions; gift cards to Darkside Snowboard Shop in Vermont and Spedelli's in Salt Lake City; photos by Chip Proulx; and artwork by legendary SNOWBOARDER art director Davidaisy, Dave Doman, and Laura, among others.
We're All Mental wrote on the auction Instagram that "All proceeds will go toward building a mental health support network within the snowboard community and beyond."
